Tsyunhehkwa - 15th Annual Community Harvest & Husking Bee 2008 - September 27th through Friday, October 3rd – Help snap the corn, husk, braid and preparing it for winter storage.

Saturday October 4th, 2008
Sustaining Our Food – Our Health, Our Livelihoods.
This seminar will be held at the Farm Market Kitchen, 520 Parkway Avenue, Algoma from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm followed by a food fair featuring locally produced foods.

2008 Wisconsin Solar Tour - October 3 & 4, 2008
The tour demonstrates that renewable energy is practical, reliable and a realistic choice for home and business owners. Tour sites are owned, lived in, and worked in by ordinary people. They are helping others open the door to renewable energy.

Although it is officially called the Wisconsin Solar Tour, sites include all sorts of renewable energy technologies and other innovative features. On the Wisconsin Solar Tour you can see:

  • Wind and solar (PV) electric systems
  • Solar thermal and solar water heating systems
  • Green building construction and passive solar design
  • Energy efficient heating technologies
  • Energy efficient appliances
  • Environmentally friendly landscaping
  • And more!

Friday, October 3: Business sites are open to the public, 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday, October 4: Homes around the state will be open for tours, 10 am - 4 pm.

20th Annual Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair

One of the biggest “green living” events in the world is held every year in Custer, WI. The Midwest Renewable Energy Association hosts its Annual Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair near summer solstice. The next fair will be June 19-21, 2009. For more info click here.
