Healthier Alternatives to Harmful Chemicals

Content brought to you by Full Circle Recycling

This really doesn't have to do with recycling, but more to do with using healthier alternatives. Everyday we are told that something is good for us that wasn't yesterday or what was good yesterday is bad today. Sometimes I can't say whether it's true or not but with regard to chemicals and our use of them I can say hands down things need to change.

As much as we like pretty fruit, ultra white clothes and pristine floors there are dangers in using these chemicals. There are over 6000 different chemicals that get used in our daily lives to clean and care for our homes and even ourselves. A lot of these chemicals have been found to be cancer causing agents that don't have a lot of research behind them. The EPA talks about allowable levels, just because they allow a certain amount of any chemical and say that it should be safe — is it really?

Do we know that it won't cause an adverse reaction later in life and are we willing to take the risk?

I, as a woman and a mother, have tried to reduce the risks by going organic and minimizing the use of harmful chemicals in my home. We use Lullwater Soap Nuts | 100% organic non-polluting biodegradable multi-purpose washing agent for our laundry and non chlorine hydrogen peroxide bleach. You might think it must be expensive and I won't deny that there are things about it that are more expensive in the outset than conventional items, but where are you going to pay for it... because you will pay for it one way or another. The saying "nothing in this world is free" is so very true, we will all end up paying at some point and time if we are not good stewards of the Earth.

As smart consumers and concientious humans, we can make a difference on how high the payment is.
